About The Alight team

The Enchantress

Hello there! My name is Christina and I a mom to 4 earthside babies all under 8, former Orthopedic materials engineer with a MS, PhD from Rutgers University branching into thermodynamics of hydroxyapatite and inorganics, and hobbyist photographer (I've not picked up my big camera near enough since #4 was born 2 years ago).

The transition from the electron microscope to the photography lens was natural, just as the transition from traditional chemistry to dye chemistry has been, but with a more artistic flair that makes it feel like a calling for a creative soul. I love bright, saturated colors in yarn and photography. I love custom mixing and color matching as well as helping in warp design where needed! When not immediately at the dye pot, I have turned to warp design and weaving with the help of the fabulous team and sisters at Alight Handwovens!

I have recently taken up spinning in my spare time, come join me as I expand into a new realm of fiber geekery and hand-dyed fiber adventure!

The narrator

Hello, my name is Sarah. I have a bachelors degree in Science, with an Equine Science major and Marketing minor.

I love animals of all sorts and have had many foster animals, as well as my own pets in my home over the years.
I spent most of my younger life, training horses in Hunters and Jumpers and competing in the East coast Horse show circuit.

I am licensed in Real Estate and just love looking at homes and helping people in their search for their dream property. I also assist my husband with running his Residential Home contracting business called, Grant Homes.

I left the wonderful worlds of horses and Real Estate, to become a mother and wife about ten years ago, but hope to go back to horses at some point in the future.

I am a mother to 4 little boys who are the center of my world. I've been baby wearing for nearly a decade now and it has evolved from inexpensive generic Soft structured carriers, to a whole range of Fancy Fabrics and amazing colors, that only handwoven wraps can provide.

I am very excited about Alight Handwovens and so eager to share my knowledge. I hope to bring many of the positive contributions that babywearing has given to me and my own family, to the community as well as help share what I have learned with a whole new group of new parents and caregivers!

Wishing you nothing but, Love, Dreams and Castles in The Sky.

Hi my name is Kimberly, one of the weavers on the Alight team. I have been married to my Prince Charming for 23 years. With him being in the Army, we have lived all over the the country and I was able to home school our 5 children. Our children are our pride and joy and 2 have followed their father into service for our country. My love for fiber arts started when I was about 5 years old and my aunt gave me a needle point kit. I still remember dragging that little kit with me to all of my brother's sporting events. I then ventured into other fiber arts including knitting, crochet, spinning, dyeing and weaving. I have been weaving for 15 years now. As a foster mom with an emphasis on severally traumatized children and/or drug addicted babies, I learned how important baby wearing was and my weaving naturally progressed to baby wraps. I have been weaving baby wraps commercially now for just over 6 years. When asked to join the Alight Team and seeing the vision and all the exciting things in store, I couldn't help but say a resounding yes! I am so honored to be a part of this journey with you all. Athena

The Mysterious Raven

Hi loves! My name is Silke and I joined the babywearing community when my youngest was just born. It started out with a simple SSC (soft structured carrier) that quickly evolved into an absolute fondness of learning how to wrap. I learned to love the way wraps were created as a form of art and something that was also so very useful. The most beautiful pieces of art hold our most precious little babes. As I evolved into the handwoven world, it was here that a love for different fibers also came about!

Growing up with my dad being in the Army, I’m fortunate enough to have lived a few places throughout the world. Currently I reside in the breath taking country of New Zealand. My family and I love exploring the beaches, the beautiful outdoors and enjoying the amazing weather. Oh and how could I forget I have two AMAZING children that I absolutely adore! I’m so excited to be a part of Alight Handwovens! I’m excited to show everyone all of the exciting things we have planned! The journey will be thrilling and always full of surprises!

Lots of love, The Mysterious Raven

Stargazer Dryad

Hi! My name is Cambria! I am a full time stay at home mama to three amazing kids; Colton (7), Grace (3), Charlotte (6 Months). My passion for handwoven textiles and fiber art started about 4 years ago when I discovered my first handwoven Tula! On my journey down the rabbit hole I was fortunate enough to meet some amazing friends which is how I got to be involved with Alight Handwoven... I love the colors, textures, fiber blends, and just about everything that comes along with creating these magical textiles! It’s a dream come true to be able to work for one of my favorite artists, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Alight!!”

The Auror

Hello, my name is Christen and I’m a beach girl who has relocated to the PNW where I am a 5th grade teacher. I’m currently working on my Masters degree in Elementary Reading and Writing. I have an almost 1 year old baby girl, a 5 year old little boy, an amazing husband, and 2 dogs.

I started babywearing 5 years ago with SSC’s and then ventured into the handwoven wrap world about 4 years ago. When I got pregnant with my daughter, I stuck to the handwoven wrap world where I was determined to learn how to back carry & get good at wrapping a tiny baby.

I’m so excited to be a part of the Alight Handwovens team. I can’t wait to see where this journey goes and I hope to share my knowledge with others & learn even more along the way!
